Behind the story: our style comes from Southeast Asia, Indonesia...
Indonesia is the biggest archipelago in the world, from the western
end (Sabang in north Sumatra) to the most eastern point (Merauke in
Irian Jaya) one needs to fly ca. 8 hours, and from the north (Kalimantan)
to the south (Java) one needs ca. 5 hours flying time. One will find
one of the biggest rain forests in the world. The country has a lot
of mining such as gold, silver, bronze, and chrome, with some diamond
deposits in Kalimantan. The world most beautiful, rich and wonderful
underwater can be found in Indonesia.
Indonesian is made up of ca 17,650 islands, with more then 200 dialects
and 47 languages. The capital city is Jakarta.
We have such rich culture, a lot of different arts from each distinct
native ethnicities. The music is different from each island, such
as gamelan from Java, a lot of them made use of bamboos and bronze
for the Instruments.
Indonesian have different schools of art from such painters such as
the famous Basoeki Abdullah, Affandi and some foreign painters who
had lived in Bali such as, Le Mayeur and Antonio Blanco. Carving and
sculpture are one of the most important forms of art in Indonesia,
we have wood carving, stone carving, and jewellery art such silver,
gold and many others.
By the way batik are most popular in central Java (Jogjakarta) and
in this city one can also find silver in Kota Gede and Borobudur Temple
(one of the 7 Wonders in the World). There many places of interest
to visit, one can go and see the Borobudur Temple, the National Park
in north Bali, Ujung Kulon (South Sumatra), Bunaken (North Sulawesi/Celebes),
Sumatra are famous for Sumatran Tiger, the Kopi Luwak, Mandailing
Coffee, Rumah Gadang (West Sumatra) and Bali are one of the famous
islands in Indonesian, Komodo Island is famous for the Komodo dragon,
Irian Jaya is famous for its gold mining, as we say Indonesian is
one of the most interesting places to visit !!
In UnikArt we offer exclusive and unique art from each of these Islands
in Indonesia, and at the moment we have naturalistic paintings, wood
carvings, sculptures, waving arts, bronze arts in 3-dimension in a
frame. Our collections are exclusive because we have only one each
item, may be occasionally two maximum in each item. We are different
